Welcome to The Marble Kitchen! I'm Tara, a wife, mama and self taught baker. The Marble Kitchen exists to bring you decadent desserts and drinks that you can share with your family or impress your friends. You'll find delicious treats that are easy enough to be baked on a weeknight as well as a few showstoppers to flex those baking muscles. I strive to create tried and true recipes with straightforward steps and delicious endings that you would be proud to bring to any occasion. Many of these desserts have special meanings or stories behind them and I hope you will read along not only for amazing recipes but also for a dash of humor, parenting mishaps and wins, wanderlust for destinations near and far and much more. You being here means the world to me and my mission is to make you more comfortable baking in your kitchen. My greatest joys come from showing love to my friends and family through baking and hosting and I thank you for following along.
I've had a long-time obsession with having my own bakery/cafe in this lifetime. While that is a far off dream, I can bring my creativity to you through this blog without going a million dollars in debt. The Marble Kitchen name comes from my love of marble countertops as a design feature in a kitchen or in my dream bakery. It would look a lot like the set from It's Complicated where Meryl Streep owns a catering business/cafe. You'll see my love of marble come through in most of the photographs of my food taken in my very own marble kitchen.
